Dear Maintainer,
This week I tried to use a usb-audio card on my new buster system and encountered some odd behaviour. The device appears in aplay -L but not in aplay -l. The controls are available in amixer/alsamixer, but changing settings does not have any effects. The devices does not seem to be available to any other programs on the system.
Since the device had worked perfectly for many years on my old system (laptop with stretch) I tested it there. On the current stretch kernel (4.9.210-1) it exhibits the same behaviour. Luckily I could boot to an older kernel (4.9.189-3+deb9u2) and here the device does work properly. It seems there has been a regression since this release.
Because current buster is using 4.19+105+deb10u3 I tried switching to the 5.4.x kernel from backports to see if there has been a fix, obviously this is not the case.
Maybe some specific snd-usb-audio tricks are needed, but I am not aware of anything I could try (help here is welcome).
