Bug#952992: linux-image-4.19.0-8-amd64: X not starting after upgrade (failed to initialize surface manager)

Dear Maintainer,

After running apt update;apt upgrade; and rebooting, X didn't start anymore.
Selecting the previous kernel using advanced options during boot allows me to get X working again, but only for that kernel.
