Dear Maintainer,
Since Buster, xrandr no longer works correctly with the graphics card in this
machine. Historically, xrandr allowed rotation of the screen(s) on kernel 4.9
(from stretch).
Installing the buster-backports (5.2) kernel allows xrandr to work again (hence
reporting this bug).
Running (for example) "xrandr --output HDMI-0 --rotate left" fails with the
following error:
xrandr: Configure crtc 0 failed
The screen does not rotate under these circumstances.
Alas we have several hundred of these machines, all running portrait displays
and this was discovered in our testing before doing mass upgrades.
Unfortunately, I don't have time to do a bisect and identify where this broke
between 4.9 and 4.19. I am happy to test specific versions on the affected
hardware though, if they are made available to me.
