Bug#914390: linux-image-4.18.0-2-amd64: unable to connect to wpa2-psk secured networks with mwifiex_usb

Package: src:linux
Version: 4.18.10-2+b1
Severity: important

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA512

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?

I setup my mobile phone to create a wpa2-psk secured hotspot. Then I told NetworkManager or wpa_cli to connect
to this network. NetworkManager showed me the password prompt over and over again. wpa_cli showed me that the
key would be wrong.
I experienced this problem already in the past with different wpa2-psk secured wireless networks.

   * Wath else did you try?

I tried the debian testing amd64 nonfree live image to make shure it is not a problem with settings I did in the
past. I got the same behavior inside the live system. I did also tested a fedora 29 amd64 live image to check if
it is a general problem under GNU/Linux. Under fedora I was able to connect to my hotspot.

   * What was the outcome of this action?

kernel log:
