I think this is bug #917124.  Try downgrading udev to version 239-15
(still in testing).

Downgrading udev and libudev1 to 239-15 did not help. It also still
happens with udev 240-2.

I did reboot, and the problem is still there.

No idea, if the initrd needs to be updated, but that does not work due to the issue at hand.

That was indeed the problem. Editing `/usr/share/initramfs-tools/hook-functions` and `/usr/share/initramfs-tools/hooks/cryptroot` to ignore the missing file `/dev/mapper/sda3_crypt` and running `sudo update-initramfs -u` fixed the issue for me.

    $ ls -l /dev/mapper/sda3_crypt
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 7 Dez 30 13:42 /dev/mapper/sda3_crypt ->
../dm-0

Should this bug report be merged with #917124?
