Package: linux-source-4.18
Version: 4.18.6-1~bpo9+1
Severity: minor

Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

   * What led up to the situation?
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
   * What was the outcome of this action?
   * What outcome did you expect instead?

*** End of the template - remove these template lines ***

Backported version of linux-source seems to be identical with the one from
the testing-branch, so it is probably OK to report against it and only cc to
the backports-list.
The problem exists since 4.14., and was pointed at already from
paste.debian.net, but if you do not report officially, nothing is going to
be done about the configuration-issue, you really cannot hope for that, not
even in the mid-term.

Right, closing this.

My guess is that you started with a Debian config that enables module
signing. If you look in /usr/src/linux-config-<version> you'll find
all the Debian configs with module signing options stripped out.

Ben.
