Hi Ben,

as requested:

linux-image-4.13.0 introduced CONFIG_FORTIFY_SOURCE:
Detect overflows of buffers in common string and memory functions
where the compiler can determine and validate the buffer sizes.

I applied this configuration in my custom kernel and it works fine.

Therefore I asked Kees some time ago
>> Is there any chance to get it officially activated?

and he aanswered:

Long story short:
Please enable this configuration option.

Thanks in advance!

Markus

    ignorance or apathy?
A. I don't know and I couldn't care less.
