Enlighten me, please.

Niltze [Hello], Konstantin-

I am relatively new to git.

Will you be so kind (if you know, of course) to convey how to checkout
a particular tag --and subsequent branch-- of debian experimental
kernel package?

In the past I have downloaded Sid branch (according to Kernel Handbook) thus:

git clone -b sid --single-branch https://anonscm.debian.org/git/kernel/linux.git

Notwithstanding, there are no branches for experimental, only tags, i.e,

git ls-remote  https://anonscm.debian.org/git/kernel/linux.git | grep "4\.11"
3fcb380cc9d71c0d24cd6f78c24c625dd482c12b        refs/tags/debian/4.11-1_exp1
c6d012b61d4dcfb0974644f452357aa37868db54        refs/tags/debian/4.11-1_exp1^{}
ff9c8f498e613fab13a1d65a59721bcd30bd3181        refs/tags/debian/4.11-1_exp2
3b2f2e58593a6aa19586eb97832978193109b9bd        refs/tags/debian/4.11-1_exp2^{}

I am planning to patch debian kernel 4.11 but I first need to download
relevant branch from current experimental to anticipate issues.

Thank you in advance for your consideration

Best Professional Regards.
