Stock Debian testing Xfce does not auto mount usb memory sticks when 
CONFIG_FAT_DEFAULT_IOCHARSET is ascii.
Creating a custom kernel where it is iso8859-1, 
Xfce Settings/Removable Devices and Media 
check boxes works as they should.
