   * What led up to the situation?, i've upgraded to 4.11.0-1-amd64 kernel and the network card driver fails with:
r8169 0000:02:00.0 eth0: rtl_phy_reset_cond == 1 (loop: 100, delay: 1).
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
it works well with the linux-image-4.9.0-3-amd64 package. Also, I can connect to the network via wifi
