Same problem here, E3-1230 v5. Stretch guest VM on RHEL 6.6 host.
Actually on my guest VM, this bug was from 4.8-rc8, while 4.8-rc7 boots well.
I do not have access to the host machine, so cannot test if those changes in configuration works or not.
