I didn't see any clues in the kernel log, and none of the drivers
specific to this system seem to have changed between 3.2.81 and 3.2.82.

Does this system have auditing enabled and does turning that off avoid
the problem?

Can you try using netconsole to capture kernel log messages leading up
to the freeze?
