I don't understand where this message comes from. Obviously it says it's related to initramfs-tools and intel- microcode, but I don't see how they would print such a message. It looks a bit like a shell syntax error message, but normally they are a bit more verbose than that. For example, if I deliberately add a syntax error I see something like: /usr/share/initramfs-tools/hooks/intel_microcode: 152: /usr/share/initramfs-tools/hooks/intel_microcode: Syntax error: end of file unexpected (expecting "fi") In any case, there is no such syntax error in the released version of intel-microcode.
