Bug#815298: linux-image-4.4.0-trunk-686-pae: sdhci module repeatedly crashes, eventually brings whole system down
Package: src:linux
Version: 4.4-1~exp1
Severity: grave
Justification: causes non-serious data loss
I'm having intermittent crashes, apparently from the sdhci kernel module. At least,
I assume that's what's causing it, since I'm getting a series of tracebacks
before each crash. The timing of the crashes is unpredictable, but they
generally happen with about twelve hours of uptime, and sometimes with
only a few minutes.
When there's a crash, the system freezes up rather than shuts down,
and it won't respond to any kind of input.
In addition, a number of PCI devices aren't listed in lspci (or
in the list at the end of this report). These include wifi and
sound. I'm mentioning this in case the sdhci problem has something
to do with it.
I apologise if I've got this report wrong-- I've never reported
a kernel issue before.
Thank you.
Here's an excerpt from kern.log a few days ago, showing the problem:
