Package: src:linux Version: 4.6.4-1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, I updated some packages as usual (i do it once a week), about 5 days ago and the Touchpad was working great with the xorg's synaptics driver, after my daily session i shut down the pc and the day after i just noticed that the Touchpad wasn't working anymore... Unfortunately I didn't manage to get a screen of the updated packages so i don't exactly now witch deb triggered the issue, however I know that the kernel should detect all the hardware even if any drivers is not installe at all. So i decided to rollback to kernel 4.6.0.1-amd64, but nothing changed. Booted again in the rt kernel and tried to uninstall and reinstall booting every time with the new drivers like xserver-xorg-input-libinput and synaptics, nothing changed. That's why guess it's a kernel bug... any help will be appriciated, also it's the first time for me using reportbug in debian so let me know if i made mistakes in the report :) Thanks for your time. So it sounds like the hardware or firmware for the touchpad might be a bit unreliable. It's sometimes possible to work around this in the kernel, but would require investigation by an upstream developer. If this recurs then do reopen this and we can work out where to forward this.
