Bug#833096: linux-perf-4.6: perf fails to find external debug info
Package: linux-perf-4.6
Version: 4.6.4-1
Severity: normal
Tags: patch upstream
Hello,
perf fails to parse the build-id section of binaries. Upstream is
affected between
403567217d3f ("perf symbols: Do not read symbols/data from device files")
== v4.6-rc1~165^2~79^2~24
and
ed7b630b3107 ("perf symbols: Use proper dso name for is_regular_file")
which is sitting in next currently (e.g.
next-20160721~42^2~11^2~7)
which includes v4.6 and v4.7.
Best regards
Uwe
