I compared the driver source between our kernel and the latest version in <http://linuxtv.org/downloads/drivers/> and didn't see fixes for a crash or hang. [...] If you install the LinuxTV modules under /lib/modules/3.2.0-4-amd64/updates then they won't be overwritten by a package upgrade.
