Package: src:linux Version: 3.2.57-3 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, After a recent security patch video resolution was degraded to 800x600 and touchpad was not functional. It was discovered that the i915 video driver was not loading. "modprobe i915" resulted in: "Unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter" dmesg reported: "video: Unknown symbol dmi_check_system_2" I found reports online and tried a couple of suggestions including removing the libdrm-nouveau package and enabling the /boot partition in /etc/fstab. None of the suggestions I found fixed my problem. I was able to resolve the problem by downgrading the kernel from 3.2.60-1+deb7u1 to 3.2.57-3. Once I downgraded the kernel, the video problem was completely resolved. The "normal screen resolution on the EEE PC is 1024x768. The system was fully up to date with Debian stable.
