Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

   * What led up to the situation?
Just installed extra 2GB of memory in my laptop
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
Tried to replace the kernel by the compiled kernel for SID(unstable)
   * What was the outcome of this action?
     Didn't work
   * What outcome did you expect instead?
To recognise the 4GB of memory installed in the system

This is a limitation of the chipset used in the X60, not software.

It has a physical address range of 4GB which must include all memory
mapped I/O devices as well as the RAM, therefore not all the 4GB RAM
will be accessible.

Ben.
