Bug#775446: linux-image-3.2.0-4-486: ath5k Invalid EEPROM checksum

Package: src:linux
Version: 3.2.65-1+deb7u1
Severity: important

Module ath5k fails to initialise my wireless card. Card was working under
Ubuntu 10.04. The error message (Invalid EEPROM checksum) was introduced
in the driver around the 2.6.32 timeframe. The initial checksumming code
was too strict, or rather did not take account of what were considered
non-standard EEPROM sizes. But this bug was supposed to be fixed eons
ago; I don't understand why I still have this issue in a 3.2.0 kernel.
