I still think this is a bug in source package. Your build log showed me nothing.I have separate branches for debian folder and upstream sources and building them with git-buildpackage command. And I think that you merged debian and upstream branches that is the reason you have no trouble with building linux-tools package.
It's ugly approach. No regards.
