I don't know how true this is in practicality. The last time I explored zswap (and zram), it was a cpu hog.
Yes, it does give you an extended Virtual Memory. But that is at the cost of CPU cycles.

And on a low end box (where the cpu is also low end) or a VPS (where cpu is pinned), I wonder what real performance benefits one really gets.

zram is already there in the Debian kernel. And zswap will soon be so. But please do share your experiences, in case you really find something impressive with these ram compression features.

I for one am really curious to see what its real use case could be.
