The appearance of that device name in /proc/mounts is a bug itself,
which was fixed in initramfs-tools 0.117.  (This is not a suggestion to
upgrade, as that version introduced several serious bugs that are not
yet fixed.)  The device name should be, and is now, canonicalised to
e.g. /dev/sda1.

I think your patch is reasonable and worth applying anyway.
