The SoC is identified by cpu family: 6 model: 54 model name: Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU S1260 @ 2.00GHz stepping: 9 microcode: 0x10d According to the data sheet at http://www.intel.de/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/datasheets/atom-processor-s1200-datasheet-vol-1.pdf the SoC supports the C1, C2, C4 and C6 CPU states. The previously mentioned kernel parameter switches to acpi_idle, but also limits to C0. Syslog states "ACPI: processor limited to max C-state 0“. To get stable operation as with kernel 3.14, it is sufficient to switch to acpi_idle by appending "intel_idle.max_cstate=0“ to the kernel parameters; "processor.max_cstate=0“ is not necessary. There is no indication in the syslog that this limits also to C0, but powertop doesn’t provide any idle stats as with intel_idle.
