Package: src:linux
Version: 3.2.57-3
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

after last update from 3.2.54-2 to 3.2.57-3 freezes occurs sporadicly,
sometimes while booting on point "waiting for /dev to be fully populated
..." but also then booting further in Graphic Desktop (Gnome) on random
points.

After reinstalling linux-image-3.2.0-4-486_3.2.54-2 (previous version
before last update) it works as before.

It seems there is something wrong with this Kernel version on my device.

ATM I set the linux-image package on hold.

Please ask, if you have further questions.

Thank you,

Erik

Hi,

it seems my problem with linux kernel 3.2 was caused by a hardware defect.
Linux kernel 2.6 was working for some weeks, but showed the same problem
then.

We found a issue on the PCB of the notebook, where some solderings of a
IC responsible for the power supply for the CPU was not fully connected
anymore. After resolder it again, everything works and the problem was gone.

Sorry for the noise and thank you for your action,

Erik
