I'm using using debian squeeze with linux-image-3.2.0-0.bpo.4-686-pae
My motherboard has the following integrated nic :
02:00.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications Device 1083 (rev c0)
Despite what says ethtool :
Settings for eth0:
Supported ports: [ TP ]
Supported link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full
100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full
1000baseT/Full
The network is initialized at 100mbps
atl1c 0000:02:00.0: atl1c: eth0 NIC Link is Up<100 Mbps Full Duplex>
This command doesn't change the speed and no error is reported, it just does nothing :
ethtool -
s eth0 speed 1000
Googling for that was helpless I wasn't able to find a solution, I think that's a bug of the driver.
Should I report it ? I wasn't able to find the person in charge of this driver.
