Bug#730138: Fix virtio-scsi memory leak in wheezy, already done upstream

Package: linux-image-3.2.0-4-amd64
Version: 3.2.51-1
Severity: important
Tags: patch

Hi kernel team,

There's a memory leak in virtio-scsi which can crash Debian wheezy VMs. The 2-line fix was accepted upstream by Linus nearly a year ago, and it would be great to get into wheezy via proposed-updates / 7.3.

Quoting one of Google's kernel engineers:

"The patch to the driver removes a memory leak when commands fail to kick. The leak would be hit often under high I/O load (lots of concurrent I/Os), but can definitely be hit in general use. The bug can also happen with QEMU, just that it is more unlikely there than under [the hypervisor used in Google Compute Engine]."

Git commit ID of 2-line patch: b56d1003512c33aa1752d84e3fa078bc76b15bf8

Thanks!
