kernel oops in 3.2.0-4-686-pa fixed in 3.10-3-686-pae

On a work-station running wheezy with kernel image:

  3.2.0-4-686-pae #1 SMP Debian 3.2.51-1 i686 GNU/Linux

we were experiencing regular display driver crashes (resulting in a
system freeze) with associated kernel-oops. Whether the xorg crash
triggered the oops or the other way around I don't know. The GPU in
the system is:

[AMD] nee ATI RS880 [Radeon HD 4250]

and the xorg driver in use is the radeon driver:

  xserver-xorg-video-radeon: Installed: 1:6.14.4-8

Upgrading to:

  3.10-3-686-pae #1 SMP Debian 3.10.11-1 (2013-09-10) i686 GNU/Linux

seems to have fixed the problem.

Fixed problems are not that interesting, I know; but I send this
report in case it might be useful, especially to people experiencing
similar difficulties. If there is any interest in further diagnosis,
I'd be glad to try to help.

Thanks for your work,

Jim
