I've the same issue also after :

apt-get clean
apt-get install --reinstall linux-image-3.2.0-4-amd64

The issue is happened after last dist-upgrade of the same
linux-image-3.2.0-4-amd64 ... before all work fine.

I'm not able to revert to an earlier kernel/modules to prove it and I'm
"surviving" with slow VESA, GDM2, ...

I hope the issue will be solved early

I asked for some specific information in case this is reproducible.

Ben.

Sorry for missing info, I'm newbie!

I confirm that the issue depends from alx.

I had installed compat-wireless from source but "make uninstall" now was unable to remove /lib/modules/3.2.0-4-amd64/updates/drivers/net/ethernet/atheros/alx. So, I've done a manual removing (rm) of this alx then, for my own knowledge, reinstalled linux-image. After reboot all come back to work fine.

dmesg | grep i915
[ 6.804299] i915 0000:00:02.0: setting latency timer to 64
[ 7.017576] i915 0000:00:02.0: irq 43 for MSI/MSI-X
[ 7.824924] [drm] Initialized i915 1.6.0 20080730 for 0000:00:02.0 on minor 0

Greetings to all this bug's friends. :-)))
