Bug#733226: linux-image-3.11-2-686-pae: segfault index++

Package: src:linux
Version: 3.11.10-1
Severity: normal

segfault apparently in kernel, but little System.map help it seems:

-------------- from /var/log/messages ---------------
Dec 27 13:08:44 conquest3 /usr/sbin/gpm[2137]: Started gpm successfully. Entered daemon mode.
Dec 27 13:08:58 conquest3 kernel: [   98.885154] NFSD: Using /var/lib/nfs/v4recovery as the NFSv4 state recovery directory
Dec 27 13:08:58 conquest3 kernel: [   98.900781] NFSD: starting 90-second grace period (net c15728c0)
Dec 27 13:12:34 conquest3 kernel: [  315.028918] index++[3263]: segfault at b78ebd50 ip 08054a17 sp bf8008e8 error 4 in index++[8048000+27000]
Dec 27 13:13:15 conquest3 kernel: [  356.571815] index++[3293]: segfault at b7887d50 ip 08054a17 sp bf933e38 error 4 in index++[8048000+27000]
-------------------------------------------

The segfault above happened while running aptitude, but I don't think
that was the trigger, at least not directly.

It is not specific to this kernel version: it happens also with a
locally compiled stock kernels.

No X was running during this test. X is currently problematic on this
machine, but whether that is related I know not. No other obvious
problems after the segfaults.
