Package: linux-2.6 Version: 3.0.0-3 Severity: important Tags: upstream Dear Maintainer, When extracting a certain tar archive to an UDF filesystem, the tar process hangs and can't be killed. Steps to reproduce: 1. dd if=/dev/zero of=test bs=1024x1024 seek=1024 2. mkdir test.mnt 3. mkudffs ./test 4. mount -o loop ./test ./test.mnt 5. cd test.mnt 6. tar xvzf ../broken.tar.gz I uploaded the file at http://bayfiles.com/file/19Pd/EzrHjQ/broken.tar.gz The archive is truncated because I didn't want to include the original 5 GB archive that caused it (and I couldn't create another that reproduces the problem). A few relevant traces from dmesg: [ 360.652149] INFO: task tar:3570 blocked for more than 120 seconds. [ 360.652159] "echo 0 > /proc/sys/kernel/hung_task_timeout_secs" disables this message.
