Package: linux-2.6
Version: 2.6.32-30
Severity: wishlist

Since openvz Kernel 042test006.1, CPU limits are back in the
openvz kernel. The currend debian kernel can limit the cpu usage
of a virtual machine only relative to other virtual machines,
there is no absolute limiting possible (for example, limit a
virtual machine to just 1 CPU).
Is there a chance we can get this feature into a point release
of squeeze?
This did work in the older 2.6.18 Kernel from openvz.org, but
this kernel doesn't work with squeeze, and many people need the
new features of 2.6.32 but also need CPU limiting.

Hi,
your bug has been filed against the "linux-2.6" source package and was filed for
a kernel older than the recently released Debian 7.x.

As already announced in the release notes of Debian 6, the kernel from Debian 7.x
no longer includes support for openvz (due to the openvz changes not being part of
the upstream kernel).

We're closing this bug now, the Debian wiki contains some information on running
Debian 7.x with openvz: http://wiki.debian.org/OpenVz

Cheers,
        Moritz
