Bug#707330: linux-image-3.8-1-amd64: Update to 3.8 causes MD RAID1 failure

Package: src:linux
Version: 3.8.11-1
Severity: important

I have two disks, one SSD and one HDD. There are to MD RAID1 volumes
that each use one partition on the SSD and one on the HDD.

After the first reboot with 3.8, MD kicked the HDD's partitions from
both RAID devices. However, there were no actual errors logged in
kern.log, the other (non-RAID partitions) on the HDD continued to work
fine and SMART did not report any error:

May 8 20:33:33 k kernel: [ 94.712144] disk 0, wo:0, o:1, dev:sda1

Re-adding the devices resulted in immediate RAID failures again (see
below for the log). As there was no change with mdadm, I guess this is a
kernel bug.

Initially, the partitions on the HDD were marked as write-mostly with
mdadm. However, when re-adding the partitions, I did not specify
--write-mostly again, which (if I read mdadm's man page right) should
have lead to write-mostly not being active.
