ALPS touchpad detected as PS/2 mouse
Hi,
I have a Dell Latitude E6430. It seems that wheezy detects my touchpad
as an ordinary PS/2 mouse. I guess this is related to the problem
described on these web pages:
<https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Touchpad_Synaptics#Touchpad_detected_as_.22PS.2F2_Generic_Mouse.22_or_.22Logitech_PS.2F2_mouse.22>
<http://mikebeach.org/2011/04/15/correctly-recognize-alps-touchpad-on-dell-e6510-in-linux/>
Now I read on
<http://womble.decadent.org.uk/blog/whats-in-the-linux-kernel-for-debian-70-wheezy-part-4.html>
the following:
Newer touchpads made by ALPS use different protocols for reporting
scroll and pinch gestures. Jonathan Nieder backported the changes to
support these.
So I wonder my touchpad still doesn’t work as it should.
Do you have any ideas about how to fix this problem?
Best wishes,
Wolfgang
