Any way to get some attention on this bug? Unless I'm missing something, it seems to make a fairly major feature (md) nearly unusable (for me), with issues of potential data loss. Maybe my hardware is just too exotic? But as far as I can tell, this is a popular AHCI chip, and those are popular disks.
