Bug#704242: Driver for PL-2303 HX not working

Package: src:linux
Version: 3.2.23-1
Severity: important

Hello,

i have the problem that i have nearly no serial communication with a USB-Serial-Adapter type PL-2303 HX.
The interesting point is that i have an older adapter and this is working without problems.

When you use the check tool of profilic the running chip is identified as PL-2303 H Chip.

The chip not running is a Pl-2303 XA / HXA.
Exact type is Pl-2303HX LF12313A or LF13313A

Both are identified as ID 067b:2303 Prolific Technology, Inc. PL2303 Serial Port

When you connect the adapter everything looks fine.
It is recognized and attached as ttyUSB0.
But the PL-2303HX does not receive data!

Sometimes you get only some bytes directly after connection of the serial device and then nothing.
I checked the input of the chip, the signal is clear and perfect.
It is the same result with 2 different adapter of the same type.

The sending of data is no problem, that's working.

Maybe you can refer also to this reported problems:

Karsten
