Bug#700039: Linux resets USB DVD drive from time to time.

Package: linux-image-3.2.0-4-amd64
Version: 3.2.35-2
Severity: important

I've a USB DVD writer attached, and when I'm copying large files (or in general continuous operation on the drive like dd/cat), periodically the drive activity stops (light stops blinking, data flow stops) for around 30 seconds, after which the following appears in the kernel logs --

reset high-speed USB device number 9 using ehci_hcd

And the reading continues.

Which suggests this may be a kernel compilation issue.
