Someone, ideally one of ARECA's developers, needs to submit a logically structured series of patches to the driver in mainline Linux. Those could can then be backported into Debian's Linux kernel package. Neither the Debian kernel team nor the Linux maintainers will simply 'update' to an out-of-tree version.
