When stable will be released, 3.8 will be out!! Firstly, Debian froze in June when the latest version was 3.4. So that is the latest version we could have used. Secondly, it's useful to share the work of maintaining a stable kernel series, and we knew Ubuntu was using 3.2 in their 12.04 LTS.
