Correct.  I have not installed it as it was not needed in Squeeze and
was upgrading from Squeeze.  However if that improves the situation in
Wheezy/Sid then I will be satisified to have a solution.  (Even if it
has all of the baggage of non-free.)  I will test that soonest.

Even though I reported against Wheezy I did test both Sid and
Experimental kernels.  Neither the linux kernel from Sid nor 3.6 from
experimental had any improvement.
