I'm seeing an OOPS from the same line of code on armel. You can see the backtrace in the dmesg output below.
This is from an NSLU2, where the root filesystem is on a 2GiB USB stick, and the machine has 32MiB of RAM and a 265BogoMIPS XScale-IXP42x CPU.
