Hi Ben,
so, now after hours and hours of compiling, I could not manage to get the
patched module loaded. The system is telling something of "version mismatch".
Whatever, I think, just close the bug and do no more efforts in fixing the bug,
it is itz not worth for the following reasons:
1. This bug is now since kernel 3.1 and no one cared of it - except of me.
2. As I am the only one with this bug, it needs not to be fixed - I got a
solution for me (just using a newer kernel)
3. The kernel 3.2.X is such old, that it will be very soon replaced by the
newer ones - who cares, what Ubuntu does.
4. I suggest, just to add the patch into the next kernel 3.2-0-XXX version. I
will report it. It will make things not worse than they are. I will report of
my tests then.
So, it will be ok for me, if the bug will be closed.
Thank you very much for your help, and do not waste any time for fixing this
bug. There are much more important bugs to fix, I think!
Best regards and a happy new year!
Hans
