Let me say first that I'm not sure when this bug first appearred in the debian
provided linux kernels. Since I just switched back from a custom compiled kernel
not too long ago. (The custom kernel does not experience this bug. though the
relevant v4l modules were always compiled in my custom builds. not sure if that
would make a difference)

The problem is that my "Hauppauge WinTV-HVR1800" dvb tuner is not functioning
properly when a debian distribution kernel is powering it. I can start video
playback, but after a few seconds, video regresses until it is entirely frozen.
After which the following errors appear in my kernel log:

I don't believe this is a hardware problem since I am able to boot into a custom
built kernel and the dvb tuner will work as normal.

I'll attach a full dmesg, but other than that, I'm not sure what else there is.
