Bug#685782: linux-image-3.2.0-3-686-pae: Upgrading from 3.2.0-2 to 3.2.0-3 no longer boots using 3ware 9500S RAID card.

Hi, when upgrading from 3.2.0-2 to 3.2.0-3, my system no longer boots.
I have a 3ware 9500S (Raid 5) card that is the primary boot disk.
I also have a LSI MegaRaid (Raid 6) card that is a data disk, but the module loads early on 3.2.0-2 (it might be the first message that is output when the kernel is booting) so that might be relevant, I'm not sure.
grub simply reports:
Error: couldn't read file
in response to
linux /boot/vmlinuz-3.2.0-3-686-pae root=UUID=... ro hpet=disable
The initrd line then fails as well.
The info below is from the 3.2.0-2 system, which still boots fine.
It seems like the 3w-9xxx driver no longer supports the 9500S series?
What are my next steps to figure out what is going on?
