Ok, I have two tests to try.
Could you try the following?
I. Check default setting:
1. Enable auto-mute mode.
2. Power down completely, take out the battery, etc.
3. Boot up in recovery mode
4. Remove /var/lib/alsa/asound.state.
5. Press ^D to boot normally
At the end of this process, is auto-mute mode enabled or disabled?
II. Check setting from upgrade:
1. Install linux-image-2.6.32-5-amd64 from squeeze. (It should work
on wheezy/sid without trouble.)
2. Enable auto-mute mode.
3. Power down completely, take out the battery, etc.
4. Boot the squeeze kernel in recovery mode.
5. Remove /var/lib/alsa/asound.state.
6. Press ^D to boot normally.
Does alsamixer show an auto-mute mode control, and if so, is it
enabled?
If there is no auto-mute mode control, then:
7. Reboot into the wheezy or sid kernel normally (keeping
/var/lib/alsa/asound.state).
At the end of the process, is auto-mute mode enabled or disabled?
"alsa-info.sh --no-upload" output from an old and new kernel would
still be interesting, too.
Thanks again, and hope that helps.
Sincerely,
Jonathan
