Sorry for the late answer, it has been rather busy these days here. Unfortunalety, I don't have the testing environment available anymore as our requirements here changed in the meantime and we are happy with a pure active/passive solution (using ext4 instead of a ClusterFS).  

Unfortunately, I cannot say if I again have the time available to give it a test run. If I'm the only one experiencing this, I'd say leave it as it is. If I ever need OCFS on Debian in the future, I'll have to build a new testbed anyway.
