Thanks.  Sounds like a completely different bug.

Does the following work?

	apt-get install iproute iw
	/etc/init.d/NetworkManager stop
	ifdown wlan0

	ip link set wlan0 up
	iw dev wlan0 connect -w <SSID> key d:0:<WEP key>
	dhclient wlan0

	ping google.com

	ip link set wlan0 down
