Yes, getting alsa-info output with the older kernel would indeed be very
useful.
If it is a while before you will have a chance to reboot, here are some
things to test before then:
- does it matter which output you try to listen to music on? E.g., if
you plug headphones into the headphone jack, does sound come out through
headphones or the main speaker?
- does manipulating any of the controls shown by "alsamixer" change
anything? If trying this, remember to press F6 first and choose
your sound card so you are using the ALSA (low-level) controls
rather than the pulseaudio (software) ones. The keybinding to
toggle a particular output is "M".
