Thanks for trying it.  I think you forgot the attachment.

Can you say a little more about the freeze?  Does anything happen on
the screen?  Can you ping the machine or log in over ssh?  Does the
magic sysrq key work?  Does toggling capslock toggle its LED?  Does
ctrl-alt-delete reboot?

Was this a regression?  Am I guessing correctly that 3.1.y kernels
work fine?
