I can confirm that I'm using

$ uname -a
Linux myhost 3.0.0-1-amd64 #1 SMP Sat Aug 27 16:21:11 UTC 2011 x86_64 GNU/Linux

now and at least for now I did not observed an immediate crash.

I'm tempted to confirm but would like to do some more tests to give a
final confirmation.

Unfortunately I do not control any squeeze machine inside this
environment any more.

Kind regards

       Andreas.
